Motorbikes — new series / Tim George, 2013

I’m very pleased to announce a new series of prints, available now. Last year I produced a poster of 9 motorbikes that my dad owned during the 70s & 80s. I have now taken them a step further and produced an alternate series, abstracting the forms, graphics & colours.

Both the originals and the 6 brand new psychedelic versions are available to buy at Print–Process. The giclée prints are available as either A1 or A2 size, and printed on 230gsm ultra-smooth fine art matt paper.

I’m massively grateful to Blam for agreeing to stock my art on his insanely cool site! Check out the full gallery for loads of original prints by the likes of Spin, James Joyce, Oliver Jeffers, Peter Crawley, Build, Maddison Graphic, Emily Forgot… the list goes on and on! I’m honoured to sit alongside them.

So what are you waiting for? Buy my prints now at Print–Process!

30 years of the Space Shuttle / Tim George, 2013

To coincide with the launch of my new site, I have a new print for sale! Again, I’ve been working on this one for a long time… ever since the Shuttle was retired in July 2011, in fact.

Anyway, better late than never. I’m really pleased with the print – it’s been exquisitely screenprinted by K2 screen, in 3 colours (white, grey, orange) on dark grey stock from GF Smith.

It’s a limited edition of 30, available to buy now for £30 each. Go get one!

One of the nicest illustration projects I’ve seen in a long, long while – José Guízar shows us the beauty in New York’s windows. Such great colours and simple forms, awesome.

Celebrating the Shuttle — coming soon

It’s been a looong time since I originally posted about a self-initiated  project to celebrate the conclusion of NASA’s space shuttle program.

Originally I hoped to release a print to coincide with the final mission, but that came and went in July 2011 and I never got the piece to a stage I was happy with.

Anyway, watch this space, because I am pleased to announce that in early 2013 the project will be unveiled. Better late than never! ;)

Jam with Chrome – one of my projects of the year

Jam with Chrome / Illustrator unknown, Google, 2012

Google have bloody well gone and done it again.

‘Jam’, their latest Chrome Experiment, is simply incredible. Just go and play with it, and tell me you don’t grin from ear to ear.

The concept is simple, but the execution is perfect. Pick an instrument (there are 19), and start clicking around to make sounds. This might not sound exciting, but flick on the ‘auto play’ settings. Tune starts sounding pretty good, huh? You can start mixing things up by changing the chords, key, tempo, and effects. It’s intuitive, responsive, and immensely satisfying.

But where things get really, really cool, is when you invite a friend to your jam. In real time, the two (or three, or four) of you can play together. And it sounds awesome.

It works seamlessly too, if you have a decent connection. Throw into the mix some really gorgeous illustrations (I can’t find who did these anywhere! If you know, please tell me in the comments!), nice typography, and really satisfying UI touches, you’ve got yourself one hell of a project.

Bravo indeed.

***UPDATE: from what I can find on the web, the superb illustrations were handled by Rob Bailey from Manchester***

Oh yeah, and there’s a really sweet video to promote the whole thing. Boom.
